Copies and prints come out below the control panel in a recessed area. The MF4350D gives you the option of using its 8½” x 11.7” glass platen for scanning and copying letter-sized singles, or using its 35-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) that can accept letter and the longer legal-size originals. A USB 2.0 port allows the MF4350D to connect directly to any PC. At maximum resolution, the multifunction keeps text sharp-even at 6-point font sizes-and does a decent job with printing graphics in B&W. Printing resolutions for the MF4350D range from the optical 600 x 600 to the digitally-enhanced 1200 x 600 dpi. Printing can start as fast as 9 seconds, with print speeds up to 23 ppm. However, standing over the unit to make multiple copies and faxes may prove uncomfortable for taller people.Ĭanon’s ImageCLASS has some impressively fast warm-up times. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) raises its overall height to almost 16 inches and may still be placed atop any desk. The Canon ImageCLASS MF4350D weighs in at under 30 pounds with a square 18” footprint. Designed for the personal and small office that needs duplexing and an Automatic Document Feeder, the multi-function can print in 1200 x 600 dpi resolution at speeds up to 23 single-sided pages per minute, 11 two-sided pages per minute. A true 4-in-1, the MF4350D offers laser printing, copying, scanning, and a built-in fax. Like the MF3240, Canon’s ImageCLASS MF4350D offers everything an office needs, all in a single desktop package. Close the toner cover and then the scanning platform to complete installation.
Push the toner cartridge down into the machine so that it is firmly seated.
Lift the toner by its small handle with one hand and align it with the groves on either side of the printer inside the toner compartment. The toner seal must be pulled out of the end of the cartridge but be sure to pull it slowly so as not to break it, thus ruining the cartridge. Rock the toner cartridge and swivel it around a few times to loosen and distribute the toner inside. Open the new cartridge’s bag and pull it out, being careful to never open the drum shutter or leave the cartridge in the light for too long. Dispose of the old toner cartridge through proper means, storing it in the bag that the new cartridge comes in. This allows the toner cartridge to be pulled out of the machine. Grip the front, right side of the toner cover and lift it up as well. It will lock itself into an open position. The printer can be opened up by grabbing on to its control panel and lifting the canning platform. When changing the cartridge, either wait until the printer cools down or beware of the parts labeled HOT SURFACE or burns may occur. It is possible that print quality can reduce to a point where the cartridge must be changed even when these messages are not displayed. At this point the print quality will be completely unacceptable or the machine will cease to operate entirely. OUT OF TONER, CHANGE TONER will appear on the printer’s screen when the current cartridge is completely out of toner. If a new cartridge is not on hand, this is the time to order one. The alert system on the Canon ImageCLASS MF4350D will let users know the current status of the device’s toner cartridge by first displaying a TONER LOW PREPARE NEW TONER message which indicates that, while the toner is not completely empty, its life will soon come to an end and users should prepare to change it.
